Grainger

Analyst – contractor (Chicago)           August 2009 – Present                           8 Months

 

Grainger is a leading domestic and international business-to-business distributor.

·          Uses GIS 4.3 (Gentran Integration Suite) to integrate external data sources to internal systems, running on Sun operating system with Oracle database

·          Responsible for mapping X12 and cXML data to an SAP IDOC format.

·          Uses SAP R/3 front end to analyze IDOC data.

 

T-Mobile

Team Lead - contractor              April 2008 - April 2009                    1 Year

 

T-Mobile is the 4th largest mobile telephone provider in the United States.

 

°         Analyzed system and advised management whether to upgrade to GIS (advised them GIS did not fit their needs)

°         Documented existing Gentran:Server 4.0 system for Windows and trained offshore resources

°         Delegated projects among team resources and worked with project managers to meet deadlines

°         Worked with SAP PI team to move feeds off Gentran environment in order to retire Gentran

°         Used SAP R/3 6.2 front end to research document issues and develop new feeds with Gentran

°         Inherited Gentran system after existing outsourced Gentran developers had left, without any documentation explaining process flows, IDOC file formats, or procedures in Gentran

°         Developed and tested new IDOC to X12 feeds for customers and suppliers in Gentran

°         Worked with Sterling VAN to support and maintain communication connection

°         Maintained AS2 feed (Isoft software), responsible for updating certificates and debugging issues

°         Created proactive alerting in Gentran to alert team right after an issue occurs

°         Created DC monitoring website which allows staff to monitor order flows to warehouses and identify issues between SAP, middleware, and WMS

°         Uses GIS 4.1 (Gentran Integration Suite) to integrate external data sources to internal systems, running on AIX operating system with DB2 database

°         Creates and maintains maps in Sterling Integrator Map Editor

°         Creates business processes (BPML) using the Graphical Process Modeler

°         Performs maintenance and system health tasks on GIS servers, performance tuning

°         Maintains multi-noded environment with perimeter servers

°         Utilizes AS2, FTP, and FTPS protocols to communicate with trading partners

°         Writes and maintains Korn shell scripts to automate backend tasks

°         Creates and maintains maps in Sterling Integrator Map Editor

°         Creates business processes (BPML) using the Graphical Process Modeler

°         Specialized in Railroad Bill of Lading (404) documents, worked with Railroads and customers on Syntax and content of the bills, including Hazmat billing

      Sorvive Technologies is a 'Business to Business' outsourcing company which specializes in the exchange of electronic documents over the internet, through FTP, and bi-sync communications.  Sorvive has implemented a variety of technologies, including EDI, XML, RosettaNet, flat-file, and offers a web interface so users can view these transactions.

 

°         Implements, maps, and sets up profiles using Sterling's Gentran:Workstation 5.1

°         Performed testing and diagnosing of new and existing EDI relationships (mostly supply chain relationships)

°         Worked with customers to diagnose technical issues with file transmissions and EDI syntax

°         Designed and implemented back end applications in Visual Basic

°         Works with 'Momentum' communications package to set up FTP accounts and monitor daily activities
